All solids are charged either positively or negatively.  Therefore, they are always looking to either give or take a charge.  The Goldenrod is not a water filter.  It is an allotropic, non-chemical form of water treatment.  The patented Goldenrod cell generates an electrochemical reaction when water and dissolved solids pass through the housing.
