The same Goldenrod recommended for use with Vogt Tube-Ice machines works perfectly to prevent scale buildup in steamers.  With daily blow-down, the Goldenrod will keep your steamer operating free from scale and more efficiently.  The pictures below are actual results of the Goldenrod installed on a steamer after just 3-weeks of operation.  All existing scale that had built up on the boiler casing and heater element had been broken loose and simply fell to the bottom of the unit.  The boiler was simply cleaned out with a wet/dry vacuum.  No chisel and hammer required to remove the scale!

Once the initial scale was removed from the boiler, the steamer now operates at it's original efficiency and remains scale free.
